Santa Fe Springs, CA (May 1, 2020)– Target Specialty Products, a leading value-added service provider of pest and turf and ornamental solutions in the United States and Canada,  announced the sixth part of the Turf Fuel®Master Class™, “Golfing through Change with COVID-19 - Part II.” The free webinar, which is part of the Business Growth Webinar Series, features a golf course superintendent panelist discussing closures and golf course maintenance during the COVID-19 crisis. Click here to register for the webinar.

The second part of “Golfing Through Change with COVID-19” will also feature the learnings of industry leaders as they maneuver the changing landscape of golf during this pandemic. Highlights include insights from the following golf course superintendent leaders:

Kyle Barton, Golf Course Superintendent at Naperville Country Club was preparing his golf course for spring with a skeleton crew.  Golf was not allowed in Illinois.  Golf will now re-open on May 1. Barton will discuss how he ramped up maintenance and prepared his golf course for golf with socially distancing in mind. Ken Bruneski is the golf course superintendent at Nk’Mip Canyon Desert Golf Course where they voluntarily closed the golf course during Covid-19. Bruneski will discuss if the course bowed to pressure to open, or if they remained closed to ensure the safety of their staff and golfing clientele.

Ian Daniels is the Golf Course Superintendent at Teugega Country Club in Rome, New York. New York State opened up golf for private country clubs only a week after the original closing. Daniels will discuss how Teugega CC embraced the opportunity to open while maintaining a safe culture. Scott Thayer, is the Golf Course Superintendent at The Legends Club in Minnesota. Thayer  recently received permission to maintain his golf course.  Since then, Minnesota granted permission for golf courses to fully open for play.  Thayer will explain how the state GCSAA lobbying efforts persuade the state to open. Nate Maurer, Golf Course Superintendent at Jacksonville Golf and Country Club offered insight on our original panel discussion on what it is like to be open during Covid-19.  Golf traffic continues to be high in Florida.  Maurer will divulge what he has learned during this time.
