The week of June 23-29th has once again been declared as National Mosquito Control Awareness Week by the American Mosquito Control Association (AMCA). After the heavy spring rains that affected much of the country, experts are predicting an increase in mosquito activity. Be ready to market your services with the following tips to keep your company’s mosquito control services on top of your audience’s mind:

Maximize exposure on neighborhood social networks like Nextdoor
Nextdoor is a social networking service for neighborhoods and an excellent source for leads for your business. Click here to visit the site and find out how popular it is in your geographical region. Join the site and answer requests for mosquito services. Having multiple leads in one geographical area can save your company on travel time. When you have a happy customer they will often recommend your services to their friends and neighbors.

Create killer landing pages
No matter what marketing campaign you are running don’t make the mistake of driving traffic back to your company’s homepage. Take the extra time to create an in-depth landing page that includes a lead form. Move users along in the sales cycle to request a quote or a call from your company.

Utilize Video Marketing
Video has risen up the ladder of importance on every marketing channel. Don’t over complicate your video making. Instead, recruit one of your technically savvy and gregarious technicians or sales people and have them create videos that are engaging and useful to your audience, rather than promotional. Position your company as an authority. Self-made videos are widely accepted and help your company come across as human and authentic.

Use Facebook Advertising
Take your marketing dollars to Facebook, one of the largest social media platforms in the world. Facebook offers excellent ad targeting options like Lookalike audiences, users who currently ‘Like’ another page, target by demographics and more. Facebook can really put you in front of your best audience to grow your leads.

Incentivize your customers for referrals
Word-of-mouth marketing and referrals from your current customers, may very well be your number once source of leads. Facebook neighborhood and mom-to-mom groups are excellent referral sources for your business. Don’t be afraid to ask your current customer base for the referral and online recommendation of your services. Incentive them with a discount off a treatment or a gift card to a local business for every so many referrals they give to you.

Now is the time to put a full court press on mosquito awareness to your target audience. The more you can do to keep them informed and keep mosquito control top of mind, the more service calls you’ll get this summer!
