Blister beetle from the beetle family Meloidae is named for its defense secretion cantharidin which is a blister causing agent. Human exposure usually happens by smashing the beetles on the skin. We usually see these beetles during spring and summer. They are highly attracted to out door lighting and they feed extensively on flowers.
