Perimeter Pro puts you in a league of your own

The BASF Perimeter Pro Program can help PMPs build strong perimeter treatment protocols.
Each program webinar focuses on perimeter pests that present the most challenges, the BASF products that are most effective in combating them, and best practices for ensuring satisfied customers.

The program begins with integrated pest management (IPM), where “star player” products can be rotated based on their mode of action to prevent the development of insecticide resistance. There’s also a “bullpen” of trusted specialist products that allow PMPs to troubleshoot tough situations and treat them with products that are reliable and easy to use.

PMPs learn from our technical experts why Termidor® SC termiticide/insecticide, with the active ingredient fipronil, is considered the foundation for general insect control and are reminded that ants are not the only target pests listed on the label. Termidor SC termiticide/insecticide can be used outdoors around windows/doors for protection against cockroaches, crickets, flies, and other listed occasional invaders. It also controls spiders and wasps under eaves and around windows/doors. Termidor SC termiticide/insecticide can be applied up to four times a year depending on the dilution rate used, which allows more flexibility to apply the product when ants are most active, increasing transfer effect. It is broad spectrum, non-repellent, has long residual and low mobility, and is extremely effective at low doses, which makes it an ideal candidate for an insecticide resistance management program.

Alpine® WSG water soluble insecticide is another star player featured in the Perimeter Pro lineup. It is a powerhouse product against cockroaches, ants, and many other target pests, and is labeled for indoor and outdoor applications, with a non-repellent active ingredient that allows for horizontal transfer effect. The Alpine WSG water soluble insecticide label includes food-handling areas, which makes it ideal for German cockroach control and other pests such as ants and flies. The flexibility of its label coupled with an easy-to-use formulation are additional benefits. Dinotefuran, its active ingredient, is a neonicotinoid that is unique in its class and kills imidacloprid-resistant flies, making it very effective for fly control.

A great example of a specialist and troubleshooter product that PMPs learn more about in the webinars is Termidor Foam termiticide/insecticide. It kills termites and other wood-destroying insects and controls ants in and around structures with limited outdoor spot treatments. Termidor Foam termiticide/insecticide can be applied from the interior as well as the exterior of the structure into voids associated with plumbing and utility lines, or by drilling access holes in areas where pests enter, hide or harbor. It is a water-based product that is also non-repellent and works at very low doses. Different from other foam products in the market, the air-filled foam cells have thick walls that preserve their structural integrity for a prolonged time (for many hours in some cases) that allows the product to coat the inside surface of wall voids while minimizing the drip.

Whether you are new to the pest management business or a seasoned veteran, the Perimeter Pro Program can help sharpen your knowledge and strengthen your treatment protocols. Participants receive calendar invitations to the live webinars, where they have the opportunity to ask our experts questions. Join by signing up here.
